We are pleased to announce that Prof. Hon. Michel Burnier from the University of Lausanne has been awarded the Paul Milliez AAward from the European Society of Hypertension and the French Society of Hypertension. The Paul Milliez Award was established in 2004 and is awarded to a distinguished scientist or physician from a French-speaking country in recognition of her or his outstanding contribution to research, education, or patient care in the field of hypertension and related diseases.

Prof. Paul Milliez was a pioneer in the field of hypertension in France and Europe. He worked on all aspects of hypertension, but focused particularly on hypertension and kidney disease. He was deeply involved in health and sciences and was recognized as a humanist who always championed just causes.
