We are pleased to announce that Prof. Hon. Michel Burnier from Lausanne University has received the Paul Milliez Award from the European Society of Hypertension and the French Society of Hypertension. The Paul Milliez Award was created in 2004 and is awarded to a distinguished scientist/physician originating from a French speaking country in recognition of her/his outstanding contribution to research/education or care in the field of hypertension and related diseases.
Prof. Paul Milliez was a pioneer of hypertension in France and in Europe. He worked on all aspects of hypertension but particularly on hypertension and the kidney. He was strongly involved in health and sciences and recognized as a humanist always defending just causes.
